Gambaran gambaran umum dalam sebuah monolog menggambarkan isi keseluruhan teks monolog. Untuk mendapatkan gambaran umum dari sebuah monolog. The restaurant’s special menu is seafood and chinese food. It is said that the restaurant has skilled male cooks. No wonder that the restaurant is always crowded with customers.

Gambaran Umum pada sebuah teks ialah warta yg mendeskripsikan mengenai isi sebuah paragraf atau teks secara holistik. Untuk menerima sebuah topik dalam paragraf atau teks, carilah istilah-kata yang paling acapkali digunakan dalam paragraf atau teks tadi.
Tiga. Informasi Rinci dalam Sebuah Teks
Informasi Rinci dalam sebuah teks adalah informsi tentang suatu hal. Informasi ini harus ada pada dalam teks. Untuk menemukan liputan rinci, teks harus dibaca dengan cermat & teliti.
4. Pikiran Utama Paragraf
Pikiran Utama suatu Paragraf artinya suatu ilham menurut penulis tentang topic dari paragraf yg bersangkutan. Jadi, pikiran primer dalam paragraf merupakan topic yg lengkap. Oleh karenanya, pikiran primer suatu paragraf dinyatakan pada bentuk kalimat. Untuk memudahkan mendapatkan pikiran utama suatu paragraf, lebih baik mencari topik dari paragraf tadi.
Lima. Informasi Tersirat dalam Sebuah Teks
Informasi Tersirat adalah keterangan yang nir tertera kentara dalam sebuah teks. Informasi tadi merupakan makna/konklusi berdasarkan yg tertulis dalam teks. Untuk menemukan informasi tersirat, bacaah teks dengan teliti, & cari kata yg adalah petunjuk buat tahu teks atau kalimat tersebut.
6. Rujukan Kata dalam Sebuah Teks
Dalam buku-kitab berbahasa inggris, pengulangan kata sedapat mungkin dihindari. Untuk menghindari adanya pengulangan istilah, maka digunakan ?Pronouns? Menjadi istilah pengganti (substitusi words). Letak istilah pengganti nir jauh berdasarkan kata yang dirujuk (reference word)

7. Makna Kata dalam Sebuah Teks
Pertanyaan yg biasa muncul pada soal yang menanyakan makna kata menanyakan baik makna maupun persamaan dan juga lawan istilah berdasarkan istilah yang ditanyakan dalam soal.
